Josephine Thaxton King, 86, of South Charleston, went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, March 30, 2014 at Hubbard Hospice House West.

She was born in Sissonville on March 24, 1928, daughter of Lane Bernard Thaxton and Nancy Jane Reed. Her home church is Roxalana Gospel Tabernacle.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Lesley Cullifer and Charles King; son, Gary Cullifer; sisters, Alverta Cavender, Violet Shaffer and Ellen McFarland ; and brothers Gene Thaxton and Henry Thaxton.

Surviving are her brother, Roscoe Thaxton; daughter, Patricia A. Jacobs; son, Robert E. Cullifer and his wife Charlotte, nine grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, April 3, 2014, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with the Rev. Tom Price and Rev. Greg Wallace officiating. Burial will follow in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2014, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
