Josephine Monday, 91, of Dunbar, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 2, 2006 at her home.

She was born July 16, 1914, the daughter of John and Kate Sargent of Given, WV.

Josephine was a member of First Church of God in Dunbar for over 58 years. She was a loving and caring person, who touched many lives, leaving a host of relatives and friends who loved her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Denver, and five brothers and sisters, Thurston Sargent, Wilmer Sargent, Milford Sargent, Iva Casto, Bertha Casto.

Mrs. Monday is survived by two children, Larry Monday of Poca, Delores Kupchak of Florida; three grandchildren, Gregory Monday, Shawn Monday, Matthew Burgess; four great grandchildren, Zachary Monday, Courtney Fraser, Kadie Monday, Savannah Burgess.

A special note of thanks to her caregivers, Darlene, Patty, and Hospice Care, who attended to her faithfully and lovingly.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to: Hospice Care, 1143 Dunbar Avenue, Dunbar, WV 25064.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, April 5, at Dunbar First Church of God with the Rev. Dr. Larry McCallister, Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park.
