Josephine Elizabeth Schmidt, 88, of Dunbar passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2012 at Hubbard Hospice House, after a long battle with heart disease

She was born November 15, 1923.

Josephine was a retired registered nurse. She graduated from Saint Mary's Hospital Nursing School in 1944, at Clarksburg. She worked at Saint Mary's Hospital, Union Protestant Hospital and all the glass plants in Clarksburg as a substitute nurse. After retirement her main job was as a wonderful grandmother to her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her birth parents, Steve and Helen Blazer of Barbour Co.; adoptive parents, Michael Joseph and Mary Jurick Faron of Clarksburg; her husband, Bernard Louis Schmidt and brothers, Thomas Faron and John Faron of Salem Va.

Josephine is survived her daughter, Stephanie Jo Roach and her husband Mark of Tyler Mountain; sons, Paul Joseph Schmidt and his wife Elizabeth of Scottsdale, AZ, and Bernard Louis (Bo) Schmidt II and his wife Jeanne of Dunbar; sisters-in-law, Mary Clara Faron and Martha Faron of Salem, Va.; six grandsons, Stephen, Andrew, Paul, Greg, Mark and Chris; one granddaughter, Elizabeth; one great grandson, Anthony; one great granddaughter, Vivi; nephew, David Faron and his wife Mitzi and son Thomas of Salem, Va.; and niece, Debbie Faron of Roanoke, Va.

There will be no service or visitation per Josephine's request.

In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to Hubbard Hospice House, 1001 Kennawa Dr., Charleston, WV 25311.

Special thanks to all the Hubbard Hospice House staff for the kind care that they extended to our mother on two occasions. Also, special thanks to the staff of Dunbar Care and Rehabilitation Center and Thomas ER staff.
