Joyce Boggess Matheny went to Heaven on Wednesday, July 27, 2022.

She was a graduate of Dunbar High School and Morris Harvey College. Joyce was a social worker for 10 years in Charleston, then she went to Washington, DC to be a property manager for a distinguished real estate company.

Joyce will be greatly missed by her friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Simon and Isabell Boggess previously of Dunbar.

Joyce is survived by her children, Timothy W. Matheny and his wife Teresa of Lynchburg, VA and Beverly Givens and her husband Jim of Dunbar; grandson, Joshua Simon Matheny and his wife Ruth and great-grandson, Zeke Matheny of Lynchburg, VA; sister, Jerri Kessel and her husband Phillip of Anderson, IN; nieces, Diane Strickland and Sandra McCurdy of Anderson, IN; great-nieces and nephews, Emily and Tim of FL and Michaela and Jesse of IN.

Services will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Faith in Action of the Greater Kanawha Valley, 1700 Pennsylvania Ave, Charleston, WV 25302.

Arrangements are in the care of Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
