On the 14th day February 2015, Joyce Thompson departed this earth to be with her heavenly family after a battle with cancer.
Joyce was a member of First Baptist Church of Dunbar and was a former employee of Haddad's of Spring Hill. She was a graduate of Capitol City Beauty School and worked as a hairdresser in St. Albans.
Joyce was quiet and shy but loved the Lord. When ask do you believe in Jesus her answer was always sure do. Joyce loved everyone and loved being her brother in law's special Queen.

Joyce is survived by one sister, Janie Moore Slater and brother in law Gary W. Slater; a very special nephew, Rev. Thomas A. Moore and his wife Mindy and their children Abby and Andy; Aunt Sabara Thomas and a very special Uncle Lowell Thomas from Ohio; and many cousins. She also had a special bond with her cousin, Kathy Moore Rhine of South Carolina; who was always like a sister to Joyce and was at her side at the time of her death and her very special cousin, Brian Dempsey.
Special thanks go to her caregiver, Jane Bowling; Dr. Michael Schiano and his staff; the staff at Women and Children's Hospital; and the special nurses from Hospice.
