Judith L. Bateman, 76, formerly of Nitro, died May 31, 2017 after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's disease.

Judy was born on July 29, 1940 to her parents, William and Mary Aretz.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Marianne Bowen, Rose Gillman and William Aretz.

Judy is survived by her daughter, Kim Beal; son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Susan Bateman, all of New Smyrna Beach, Florida; sister, Saundra Hall of Dunbar; and granddaughter, Alexandra Butler of New York, NY.

The funeral service for Judy will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, June 9, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar. Visitation begins at 12:30 p.m. Judy will be laid to rest immediately following the funeral service in Grandview Memorial Park, Dunbar.
