Obituary

Julie Ann (Simpson) Johnson "Julie Bug", 49, passed away in her home in Newton on Friday August 29, 2014.

Julie was born on June 2, 1965 in Charleston to Barbara Sue (Simpson) Smith and William Lee Simpson.

Julie was a graduate of Nitro High School and later attended West Virginia State University where she received her degree in Hospitality Management in 2001.
She was a daughter, sister, mother, grandmother (G-Ma), friend to all, homemaker and child of God.

The happiest days of her life were of her childhood growing up on Lee Avenue in Nitro and being a Mommy raising her children. Julie loved life, her family, her many friends from all walks of life, dancing, the beach, entertaining, cooking, nature, gardening, flowers, animals, living "In The Pines", and she had a great love of music, especially "Cage The Elephant." She loved her children with all of her heart and most of all her beautiful, sweet grandbaby, Syerra Reece!

Julie is survived by her father, William Lee Simpson of St Albans; mother, Barbara Sue Smith of Looneyville; step-father Michael Ray Smith of Looneyville; sister Cindy (Kenzie) Jones of Philpot,Ky; brother, Billy(Anitra) Simpson of Harrisburg, NC; step-sister, Stephanie (Bryan) Gibson of Spencer; children, Aubrey Aaron, Whitney Ann (and significant other, Doug Curry) and Alexis Ariel Johnson; granddaughter, Syerra Reece Curry; nephews and nieces, Chad Kelly, Kristi and Courtney Jones, Kegan, Jacob, Ashlyn and Aidan Simpson, Krasey, Kristen and Paige Blosser.

The family wishes to thank her guardian angels, Mom, Barbara and Step-father, Mike Smith for their endless love and efforts in helping Julie.

A Memorial Service will be held at 5 p.m. on Saturday, September 6 at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
