Katherine Lynn
Jackson
May 14, 1977 – November 8, 2023
Katherine Lynn Jackson, 46, of South Charleston, passed unexpectedly Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2023.
She was born May 14, 1977, in Charleston, to Iris Anne Jackson and the late Ronald Wayne Jackson.
Kathy was a proud Spring Hill Elementary Blue Jay, Spring Hill Jr. High Rebel and South Charleston High School Black Eagles cheerleader. She attended the University of Charleston where she completed her junior year as an Art & Business Administration major.
She loved the arts and was a wonderful piano player and painter. She loved to draw and shared her love of art with others, in addition to spending time with her animals. Kathy loved music, dancing, SHOPPING and watching her favorite TV shows including sports. She loved a good football game! Kathy brought love and laughter everywhere she went. Most of all, she loved others unconditionally and was the most thoughtful and humble soul. She loved Jesus and rejoiced in him being her Savior. We know Kathy is dancing amongst the Angels.
In addition to her father she was preceded in death by grandparents, Annabelle Rhodes, Ed and Mary Jackson; many aunts and uncles including Judy Holley and Thomas Rhodes.
She is survived by her mother, Iris A. Jackson; step-father Kenny Detherage; sisters, Christine Mendel (Todd), Elaine Bleigh (Allen), Lorie Jackson (Brian), Kelli Poling, Bernedette Casey, Paulene See, Yvonne Perkins (Gerald); brothers, Ronnie Jackson and Stephen Jackson; several nieces and nephews that she adored and loved more than life itself including Sidney, Kelsey & Laken Mendel, Tyler Davis, Samuel Bleigh, and Whitney Perkins. They were the light of her life.
She is also survived by many cousins; and aunts and uncles.
Kathy had many friends too numerous to list, but all held a special place in her heart and with her family.
We want to thank everyone that has reached out to share their thoughts and prayers. The love and generosity you have shown is greatly appreciated and comforting.
There will be a celebration of Kathy's life at a later date and time. Once a date, time, and location are determined we will post details online and reach out to everyone.
Arrangements are in the care of Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
