On December 31, 2013 Kathleen Schoonover Bowen was greeted at the gates of Heaven by her savior, Jesus Christ.
She was reunited with her husband, J.L. "Sam" Bowen, her parents, Winston and Ruth Schoonover, and eleven siblings.
She is survived by her three daughters, Joan Pennington (Ernie), Joyce Schuda (Ted), and Connie Gibson (Robert/Luigi); seven grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren.
Born September 3, 1920, she spent her 93 years devoted to her Lord Jesus Christ and her family. She loved to have beautiful flower gardens, quilting, riding the John Deere lawnmower, and was a lifelong member of Brown United Methodist Church. She passed through this world leaving no regrets, "I'm thankful for the life I've had and the things I've seen. God has been good to me."
A celebration of Kathleen's life will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, January 4, at Brown United Methodist Church with the Rev. Corbett May officiating. Burial will follow at Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, January 3, at the church.
