Kathleen Ann
Hall
August 11, 1954 – December 11, 2024
Kathleen Ann Hall, 70, of Sissonville passed away at Hubbard Hospice House on Wednesday, December 11, 2024.
She was born on August 11, 1954 in Fort Campbell, KY to the late Charles and Joann Zirckel.
Kathleen graduated from Bluefield State College at the top of her Registered Nursing Class. She worked as a clinical nurse at Raleigh General Hospital then at CAMC as an IV Therapist. Kathleen worked as a case manager for Kimberly Quality Care, Acordia Employer Services, and Wells Fargo. She taught LPN classes, for a time, at Garnett Career Center in Charleston. Kathleen was always eager to learn new things and continue her education. For two years, she and her mother Joanne ran a very successful body wrap franchise called Body Sculptors Inc. Kathleen loved to read, one of her favorites being Stephen King. She also loved writing, composing poetry and music. She was a special lady, indeed. Her loving and gentle demeanor was clearly and immediately evident to folks upon their first meeting. Kathleen always had a twinkle in her eye, inviting smile, kind word, and such contagious laughter. She was immensely brave, compassionate, and was considered a mentor, mother, and friend by a great many. Kathleen was very intelligent and an amazing teacher. Her wisdom, tempered with love and compassion are what drew everyone to her. Her warmth, tolerance, and inclusion of all made her the epitome of a perfect role model of what being a good human is all about.
Kathleen was a 21 year cancer survivor having beaten advanced lung cancer after being given only a 2% chance of surviving the chemo and radiation treatments. She beat the odds! She also suffered from multiple autoimmune diseases, with one being extremely rare with a five year life expectancy. She was at that five year mark.
In addition to her parents, Kathleen is preceded in death by her son, Craig Stuart Laurent; stepfather, James Scott; and sister, Cheryl Blackwell.
Surviving loved ones left to mourn her death are her husband, Frank Hall; sons, Aaron Hall and Jason Hall (Michelle); grandson, Nathaniel Hall; brothers, Keith Scott (Shelley) and Bruce Zirckle.
Thank you to her doctor, Kristi Hensley Boothe; caregiver, Jeanne Thompson; and the staff at Hubbard Hospice House.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date.
In lieu of flowers, please consider sending donations to Hubbard Hospice House at
1001 Curtis Price Way, Charleston, WV 25311.
Arrangements are in the care of Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
