Kathy Lynn Burgess' Obituary
Kathy Lynn Burgess, 55 years young, of Charleston, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, July 14, 2007, after an extended illness.
She was a Charleston High School graduate and was employed by St. Francis Hospital where she devoted her life for 30½ years.
She was preceded in death by her father, Lloyd Hughes, brother, Timothy W. Hughes, step-father, Woodrow Allen, grandparents, Delbert and Marbel Canterbury and grandmother, Margarie Hughes.
She is survived by her daughter, Tammy Lynn Burgess, her God child, Hannah Atkins, who she called "her little princess;" mother, Edith Allen, brother, Dr. Stephen Hughes and niece, Hannah Eaves.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, July 18, at Grandview Memorial Park, Dunbar, with Pastor Randy Ledsome officiating.
Friends may call from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, after which the procession will depart the funeral home for the cemetery.
Kathy was loved and will be missed by many friends and family members.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations by made in Kathy's name to the American Heart Association, 160 Court Street, Charleston, WV 25301 or to the American Diabetes Association, P. O. Box 238, Hurricane, WV 25526-0238.
Arrangements are in the care of Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
