Kathy Kaye Aldridge Johnston went home to see Jesus on April 9, 2021 at home, with her family by her side.

She was born in South Charleston on December 24,1949, and was the oldest of nine children.

Kathy and her husband Harry were married in February 1982 and have been foster parents since 1992. In their 39 year marriage, they have opened their hearts and home to over 200 children. Her strong-will and selfless nature served as a true testament for her love of God and family. Kathy's life and how she lived it was an inspiration and a blessing to all who met her and knew her. Most will remember by her sweet spirit and her funny sense of humor. Kathy lived her life according to Proverbs 31, her favorite chapter of the Bible.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Delores Aldridge; daughter, Jamie; and two brothers, Rick and Roger.

Kathy is survived by her husband, Harry Johnston; children, Toni, Michael, Jessica, Ethan, and Jacob; one grandchild, Austin (Beverly); and two great-grandchildren, Gabe and Pyper; siblings, Donna, Tommy, Jan, Connie, Jackie and Patty.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 17, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar with Pastor David Bess officiating.

Friends may visit one hour prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
