Keith Ronald Hypes, 83, of St. Albans passed away on January 13, 2026.

Born on Veterans Day 1942, to CC and Ethel Hypes joining a sister and brother on Smith Creek, South Charleston WV.

Keith started farm work at twelve. He went on to be a milk boy for Valley Bell, mechanic for Joe Holland, City of South Charleston employee, driver for Evans Lumber, finally ending up at Union Carbide Construction until bad health forced him to retired in 1994. Keith was also a Union Steward and volunteer ambulance driver for Newton Fire Department.

Keith enjoyed fishing and hunting. He also liked to deal and trade at auctions and flea markets.

Keith married Jo Ann Shultz, whom Keith always called "Granny", in 1963.  They welcomed two children into their family, Ronald Scott (Tammy), and Diana Lynn. They also had four grandchildren, Brandi Falls, Brianne Hypes, Jarred (Savannah) Hypes and Brooke Hypes; along with five great-grandchildren.

The family will hold a private service.

Arrangements are in the care of Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
