Arnott
January 1, 1926 – December 3, 2017
Kenneth Carl Arnott, 91, of Dunbar, passed away on Sunday, December 3, 2017. He left this life surrounded by loving family and friends.
He was born in Roane County, to the late Estace and Blanche Arnott. After graduating from Spencer High School in 1945 he served in the US Army in Europe. He retired after 33 years from Union Carbide Institute Plant and enjoyed 33 years of retirement.
Kenneth was a longtime member of Roxalana Gospel Tabernacle where he loved to sing bass in the choir and quartets; and served many years on the board and numerous activities for the church.
Gardening and his family farm in Roane County was where he loved to spend his time. If you saw him on his tractor, working on a lawnmower, bulldozer or other equipment you knew he was happy. Kenneth loved the WVU Mountaineers and The McDonalds gang will surely miss his antics. Storytelling was a passion of his.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by all twelve of his siblings; and his son-in-law, Dickie Fulknier.
Kenneth is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Wanda Pickens Arnott; their six children, Judy Keller (Bobby), Sharon "PeeWee" Pearson (Jim), Steven Arnott (Deanna), Beverly Williams (Frank), Vickie Green (Richard) and Danny Arnott (Katie); his grandchildren, Jennifer Whittington, Jessica Ball, Jonathan Fulknier, Krystal Warner, Heather Moles, Ashley Mason, Tiffany Gum, Tara Flinn, Nathan Arnott Green, Maddy Arnott and Rachel Arnott; 17 great- grandchildren with another one due in January.
This is only a glimpse of his blessed life.
Services will be held at 1 pm on Thursday, December 7, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar with the Reverend Tom Price and the Reverend Al Mendez officiating. Burial will follow in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, December 6, and one hour prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Roxalana Gospel Tabernacle Building Fund, PO Box 367, Dunbar, WV 25064 or Genesis HealthCare Center, 501 Caldwell Lane, Dunbar, WV 25064.
