Kenneth Albert Sterling, 71, of Dunbar, passed away on Wednesday, July 12, 2017.

He was born on January 18, 1946 to the late Lester and Helena Sterling in Schenectady, NY.

Kenneth earned a Master's Degree in Forestry from Clemson University in 1972. He married Mary Sowry on May 2, 1980. Kenneth retired as the owner of Sterling Wood Chip Company in 2008.

He learned his love of woodworking from his father, who was a Master Woodworker. He loved trees, hiking, antique tools, geography and history.

Kenneth was one of Jehovah's Witnesses; he loved Jehovah and his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, David Sterling.

Kenneth is survived by his loving wife, Mary; son, Steven Sowry, daughters, Kathryn Leffler and her husband, Rex, and Teresa Banks; grandchildren, Sterling Banks, Michael Leffler, Moriah Whitmer, Robert Whitmer, Zachary Sowry and Alexander Sowry; great-grandchildren, Morrighan and Devin Whitmer; sisters, Lynn Sterling and Florence "Sparkle" DeZavadow; nephews, Jeff Stanforth, Jonathan Sterling and Nick DeZavadow; nieces, Gabrielle Daniels, Suzanne Sterling and Holly Williams; and many more nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 5 p.m. on Saturday, July 15, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar with Mr. Jeff Williams officiating.

Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
