"Kenny" Sargent, 92, of Dunbar passed away on Friday, September 5, 2025, at the Hubbard Hospice House in Charleston, West Virginia after experiencing a rapid decline in his health after the passing of his lovely wife, Mary "Witchie" Harper Sargent of 63 years.

Kenneth gave his heart to the Lord after one of his hunting buddies, Ron Hunter, prayed and read scripture with him.

Kenneth was the son of Wilmer and Oma Riffee Sargent.  Kenneth grew up in Dunbar and graduated from Dunbar High School.  Kenneth started his career as a Dunbar Postal Carrier with over 30 years of service.  Kenneth enjoyed his job which game him the opportunity of making many friends which he has cherished over the years.

Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents, Wilmer and Oma Sargent; his wife, Mary Harper Sargent; as well as his siblings, Chester Sargent, Helen Spencer, Joyce Fizer, and Elaine Merrifield.

Kenneth is survived by his sisters, Wilda Young, Wanda Mynes, and Loretta Jividen who tirelessly cared for Mary and Kenneth's needs until they passed.

Kenneth enjoyed raising fox hounds and was a long time fox hunter with his many buddies.

He was a dedicated husband, and when Mary became ill it was evident when he gave his dogs away to care for her until she passed May 24, 2025.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 11, 2025 at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar with Ronald Hunter and Pastor Megan Cloninger officiating.  Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park, Dunbar.

Family and friends may visit one hour prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home,
Dunbar.
