Obituary

Lacy Russell Compton, 61, of Scott Depot, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 23, 2022.

He was born on February 16, 1961, in Louisville, KY, to the late Harlan and Jacqueline Compton.

Lacy was a retired South Charleston Police officer. He was a 100% disabled veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brother, Delmer Jarrell Jr.; and granddaughter, Cassie McDonald.

Lacy is survived by his loving wife, Mary Kay Compton; son, Robert Martin and wife Alecia of Odenton, MD; daughters, Michele Martin of Beckley, Marva Russell and husband Jason of Hometown, Tina Mason and husband Michael of St. Albans; grandchildren, Joshua Tincher of Ashland, KY, Kayla Wriston and husband Dakota of Beckley, Cody Mason and wife Miranda of Charleston, Preston Tincher of Scott Depot, Jacob Pomeroy of Hometown, Dennis Martin of Oberhausen, Germany, Cory Mason of St. Albans, Lucas Pomeroy of Hometown; great grandchildren, Jonah, Owen, Demi, and Harper; brothers, Joseph Compton and wife Brenda of Alum Creek, Richard Compton of Alum Creek, Mike Compton and wife Margaret of Louisville, KY; and many nieces and nephews including Susie and Joey Compton.

A graveside service will be held at 2:15 p.m. on Wednesday, June 29 in Donel C. Kinnard Memorial State Veterans Cemetery, Dunbar.

Friends may visit 12:30 to 2 p.m. at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.

The family requests that masks be worn at all times.
