Edwards
August 13, 1986 – October 6, 2024
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Lakeish Janell Edwards, who went to be home with the Lord on October 6, 2024.
Born on August 13, 1986, Lakeish lived a life filled with love, light, and joy. She had an extraordinary gift for making everyone around her feel seen and valued. Known for her radiant smile and infectious spirit, she lit up every room she entered and was always the life of the party.
Lakeish had a way of encouraging others exactly when they needed it most. Her kindness and dedication to her loved ones knew no limits, and she worked tirelessly to support and uplift those she held close to her heart. She loved deeply, lived boldly, and created beautiful memories that will be cherished forever.
Lakeish is now reunited in eternal rest with her father, Elbert Purcell; her grandparents, Patricia A. Baldwin, Leroy Sr. and Laura E. Purcell; and her brother, Brandon Lewis Edwards. Though she has gone ahead, her presence will forever be felt by those who loved her.
She leaves behind her beloved daughters, Jaiesha Morris and JoeRhia Harper, who were her greatest treasures. Lakeish also leaves her loving mother, Stephanie Edwards; her sisters, Porche Edwards, Janea Smith, and Valentina Anderson; her brothers, RaShun Edwards, Rakeen Edwards, and DaVontae Edwards; and her grandfather, Garnet Edwards, Sr. She will also be deeply missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who were blessed by her life.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at Dunbar First Baptist Church, located at 311 16th Street, Dunbar, WV 25064.
Family and friends are welcome to join the visitation one hour prior to the Celebration at the Church.
Lakeish's beautiful spirit, boundless love, and unwavering encouragement will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Though she is no longer with us in body, her legacy of joy, love, and strength will remain in our hearts forever.
