Larry Randolph "Randy" Means of Virginia Beach, Virginia, formerly of Charleston, West Virginia, passed away September, 10, 2009 at home from complications of a heart attack he suffered on March, 7, 2009.
He was a Project manager with Door Engineering Corp. Norfolk, VA. He was previously employed with BSH and Trojan Steel in Charleston, West Virginia. Born on September, 2, 1947, He was the first born child of the late F. Marshall Means and Daphne George Means Selbe of Charleston. He was a 1965 graduate of Charleston High School. He was also a diehard Mountaineer fan. He loved to deer hunt every year with his hunting buddies, his brother-in-law Jimmy Ballard and his sons Scottie and Jason Ballard and his son-in-law Jeff and grandson Kevin. He was a loved husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years Diane Sue Ballard Means of VA Beach; daughters, Kelly Means Wayland and husband Jeff and their 3 children Kevin Scott, Amber Nicole, and Haley Diane of VA Beach, formerly of Charleston, Karen Michelle Means and her two children Ali Elizabeth Means of Charleston and Hayden Tyler Means of VA Beach; sister and brother-in-law, Marsha and Bill Bumpus and niece, Danielle Marino of Dunbar, WV; brother, Shawn Means of Charleston; sister-in-law Janet Means of Charleston and nieces, Brittany and Molly Means; sister-in-law, Linda Ballard of Charleston; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Susie Ballard of Charleston; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Glenna and Don Mason of Charleston; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Michael and Donna Ballard of Charleston.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, September 14, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with the Rev. David E. Wall officiating. Burial will follow in Graceland Memorial Park.
