Laura A. "Curly" Womack, 80, of Lanham, passed away on Friday, December 28, 2007, at home with her family by her side.
She was born September 28, 1927 at Lanham the daughter of the late Ovie and the late Ellen McClanahan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Gilbert; daughter, Nancy Ellen; sisters, Betty Ann McClanahan and Chris Honaker; brothers, Ovie McClanahan and Bill McClanahan.
Surviving are daughters, Norma Lett of White Sulphur Springs and Dottie Atkinson and husband, Bill, Curley's handyman, of Poca; son, Thomas V. Womack and wife, Rae Jean of Sumter, SC; sisters, Norma McClanahan, Clela Womack and Jean McClure; grandchildren, Annette Morris, and husband, Philip, Kim Sigman, and husband D.J., Bev McClanahan, and husband Mike, Ben Lett, and wife Susie, Kevin Lett, and wife Lisa, Shirley Rose, and husband, Chan, Amy Lett, and companion, Edwin Dixon; great grandchildren, Taylor Morris, Ryan Morris, Skylar Sigman, Mattie Lett, Caleb Lett, Lucas Lett, Sam Smith, Karley Rose, and soon to be, Chase Rose; and her beloved dog, Sugarbaby.
To those she leaves behind, Laura will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
The family would like to thank friends and relatives for all their kindness, love, thoughts and prayers.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, January 1, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar. Burial will follow in Goff-McClanahan Cemetery, Kelly's Creek.
