Lavera Mathews' Obituary
LaVera "Boots" Mathews, 82, of Cross Lanes, went home to be with the Lord July 6, 2009.
She was born October 6, 1926 in Throckmorton, TX and was the daughter of the late A.W. & Eva Bingham. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Lavera was a member of the Cross Lanes Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Dr. Wayne Bingham of Lansing, Michigan and Huell Bingham of Clarendon, TX, and her granddaughter Sierra Mathews of Cross Lanes.
Mrs. Mathews is survived by her husband of 63 years, Warren Mathews; daughter, Rebecca Stack of Charlotte, NC; son, Donald Mathews of Cross Lanes; sister-in-law, Lurene Gift of Dunbar; grandchildren, David Holcomb of South Charleston; Autumn and Drew Mathews of Cross Lanes; great-granddaughters Kyra and Alexandria Holcomb.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, July 10, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with Pastor Seth Polk officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Memorial Park, Milton.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, July 9, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Cross Lanes Baptist Church, 102 Knollwood Drive, Cross Lanes, WV 25313.
