Babe was one of a kind, always willing to share her opinion or a story. She loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends. The world will be less colorful without her on the corner of 19th Street & Fletcher Avenue.
Babe was born on August 3, 1934 in Hazard, KY. She was preceded in death by her parents, Luther & Edyth Harvey; her brothers, Bill & Ervin Harvey; and her daughter, Julie Pamela Asbury.
She is survived by her daughter, Joy Garrett and son, Andy Ferguson; grandchildren, Jenny Jones, Allison Shumate, Staci Shumate, Lindsey Shumate, Tyler Ferguson and Amy Ferguson; great-grandchildren, Brittany Barnett, Briana McDerment, Bailey McDerment and Eden Ferguson; great-great grandchildren, Jayden, Alexis, Kylee and Brayden; sister, Lorene Duff; brothers, Earl and Harold Harvey; many nieces and nephews; and close friends.
Babe's wishes were to be cremated and that there would be a get together with friends and family. A memorial service and pot luck dinner will be held at the Fairlawn Baptist Church Family Life Center located on the corner of 20th St and Fletcher Avenue on Saturday, April 9 at 4:00 p.m. Bring a covered dish and your favorite memory or story about Babe to share.
