Lena M. Simms, 88, of Dunbar, went home to God on Wednesday, January 24, 2018.

She was born on September 21, 1929, in Charleston, to the late Noble Moore and Ada Davis.

Lena was a loving, devoted wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She was a loyal, giving, kind woman full of inspiration and beauty. She lived to help others and will be missed greatly by all who had the pleasure to know her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Orville Simms; son, Pastor Ken "Butch" Simms; daughter-in-law, Linda Simms; and sister, Christine Rader.

Lena is survived by daughters, Sherie Morris and husband, Robert, of Dunbar, Lisa Simms of Springfield, KY; grandchildren, Rachel Collins of Dunbar, Zack Collins of St. Albans, Nathan Gross of Springfield, KY, Dustin Gross of St. Albans; and four great-grandchildren.

There will be a funeral service at 7 p.m. on Saturday, January 27, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar with the Rev. Teresa Markins and Pastor John Mason officiating.

Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
