Lena Yeauger, 95, of Cross Lanes, went from life to life on Monday, August 23, 2011.
She leaves two loving children, Marilyn Campbell and her husband, Russ and Wayne Yeauger and his wife, Suzie, and her only granddaughter, Heather Boggess of North Carolina.
Lena was preceded in death by her husband, Perk Yeauger, sisters, Reba Kelly and Ruth Wells and brother, Ray Runyon.
She is survived by nephews, Bill Kelly and Donnie Wells and nieces, Sue Starcher, Nancy Slaughter and Judith Vanyo.
Lena was born and raised on the west side of Charleston and resided 47 years in Rock Lake Village.
In her more than 40 years walk with the Holy One of Israel, Lena was an intercessor, prayer warrior, phone counselor, greeter and server of fellowship dinners in her churches. Maranatha Fellowship of St. Albans, Faith Fellowship of Sissonville and Community Church of Hurricane have walked with her for the past 11 years of her life, with prayers, cards, phone calls, communion service and personal visits.
Our family would like to recognize the wonderful medical care services of Doctor James Mears of the WVU Physicians of Charleston and his staff for years of care. Also, we appreciate Becky, her In Home Health Care nurse, ever reassuring to Lena and a loving friend. Our thanks to Kari Smoulder for her many bedside visits to Lena in the hospital.
We also recognize the care givers whose help supported both my mother and our home life—Sue Griffith, Susan Roush and Regina Fuller. They are a bounty of love.
A special thanks to the Kanawha Valley Emergency Ambulance Authority for their many years of support and assistance.
All of these individuals' participation made a huge difference in the last 15 years of our lives. Thank you.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, August 25, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with Pastor David Bess officiating. Private burial in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans, will be at a later date.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
