Obituary

Lenora "Janie" Jones, of South Hills, passed away on March 21, 2011.

Janie was born August 18, 1945 and was a retired bus driver for Kanawha County Schools. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was a member of the Loudendale Freewill Baptist Church.

Janie was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Stella Byrd; son, Kevin Simpson; brothers, Johnny, Charles and Jimmy; and granddaughter, Ashley.

Janie is survived by her loving husband of 41 years, Paul Jones of Charleston; children, Fred Simpson and his wife, Suzanne of Plano, TX, Annjanetta Jordan and her husband, Jerry of Charleston, Ricky Jones and his wife, Amy of Charleston, Tammy Grueser and her husband, Mike of Dunbar, Charlene Simpson-Sheffield of Tallahassee, Fla., Scott Jones and his wife, Susie of Dunbar and her spoiled dog, Buttons. Our beloved mother adored her 13 granchildren and 1 great grandchild, Kaitlyn Jones, Travis Jones, Shannon Jones, Anthony Jones, Joshua Grueser, Cortney Jordan, Josh Jordan, Trenton Jordan, Lorah Jayne Jordan, Kyle Sheffield, Brandon Simpson, Johnathan Simpson, Eric Shenkenberger and great grandson, Landon Skinner. She will be missed by her brother, Robert Byrd of Denham Springs, LA. and her twin sister, Patricia Ann Rogers of Charleston along with all of her nephews and nieces who adored their Aunt Janie.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, March 25, at the Loudendale Freewill Baptist Church with the Rev. Harold Burton Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m., Thursday, March 24, at the Loudendale Freewill Baptist Church.

We would like to thank Kanawha County for the recent naming of her street officially to Lenora Lane in honor of Ms. Jones. We will miss her more than words can say. We love you, Mom.
