Leo J. Barrett, 96, lifelong resident of Dunbar, died December 7, 2013 after a short illness.
He was a veteran of WWII serving in the Army Air Corp, Pacific Theater, in New Guinea. He was retired from Appalachian Power.
He was born July 2, 1917 to the late William and Viola Barrett. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Katherine and Dolores; brothers, William, Robert, and Raymond.
Leo is survived by numerous nieces, and nephews. He was also honorary uncle to many in the Roxalana neighborhood, especially those of the Hudson and Martin families.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 10 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, where a Rosary service will be held at 7:45 p.m.
A traditional Latin Requiem Mass will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, December 11 at Christ The King Church, Dunbar with Father Joseph Tuscan officiating. Burial will follow at Tyler Mountain Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his name to HospiceCare, 1606 Kanawha Blvd. W., Charleston, WV 25312.
