Obituary

Leonard Jackson "Jack" Cobb, Jr. 78, of South Charleston, passed away at home unexpectedly Friday, September 26th, 2014.

He was predeceased by his wife, Nancy Lawrence, of East Bank, father, Leonard Jackson Cobb, Sr, mother, Nellie Ruth Cobb, and two brothers, Charles Cobb and Lionel Cobb.

Jack is survived by his three daughters, Vicki (Danny) Wolfe of Pinch, Aimee Cobb of South Charleston, Jaclyn (Matthew) Mundy of South Charleston, grandsons Daniel Turley (Cassie) of Pinch and Richard Turley (Morgan) of Maryland and great grandsons Bryson and Braeden, sister Dolores Cobb Anderson, Nephews Mike Slater, Stephen Anderson and Chuck Cobb, nieces Kelli Cobb Jones, Lisa Anderson Gandee, Leslie Anderson Wright and several other nieces and nephews.

Jack served in the Marines in Souel Korea during the Korea Conflict in the 1950's. He then worked at FMC until 1984, at which time he opened Cobb's Bait and Tackle, which later became "AJs Place." His passion was making fishing lures that turned him into a legendary musky lure maker. Cobb's Famous Action Lures have been sold all over the world. Jack also enjoyed and was very passionate about girls' softball and was a long time hitting coach - he loved his girls.

Jack was a devoted husband and father and his three daughters were his world. He never met a stranger and treated everyone like family. L-O-V-E represents the core of who Jack was and he will be sorely missed but his legacy will live on forever.

The visitation will take place at Keller Funeral Home in Dunbar, on Tuesday, September 30th from 6 to 8 p.m., and the service will take place the following afternoon, October 1st at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
