Leonard Joseph Larkins, 77, of Sumerco, passed away Thursday, October 17, 2013, at Thomas Memorial Hospital after a short illness.

He was a native of Detroit, Michigan and was a quality engineer with Ford Motor Company and retired from Volkswagen. Leonard was a US Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo Norman and Theresa Altman Larkins, his step-father, Frank Napoleon, sister, Shirley Podpora and his brother thru love, Lloyd Gillenwater.

Surviving are his loving wife, Joan A. Larkins; sons, Christopher and Eric Larkins; step-daughter, Toni Chessie; and sister thru love, Nola Gillenwater. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews and three great great nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, October 21, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with the Rev. Dr. Patricia Jarvis officiating. Burial with military rites will follow in Graceland Memorial Park.
