Lesley
Eagle
January 25, 1947 – September 13, 2022
Lesley "Les" Eagle, age 75, of Clendenin, went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 13, 2022, at CAMC General after battling a short illness.
He retired from UPS Freight, formerly known as Overnight Transportation, as a commercial truck driver. Les was an ordained minister and shared the word of God for many decades.
He always enjoyed making others laugh and catching people off guard with his humor. He especially loved to approach strangers and ask, "Do you wanna mud wrestle?", or tell people that his butt was raw because his wife made him wear burlap britches.
Les was a very loving and giving man to family, friends and strangers. He provided many people with words of wisdom, food, financial support and even opened his own home to give shelter when others needed a place to stay.
He is proceeded in death by his parents, Cluster and Ruth Eagle; paternal grandparents, David and Almira Eagle; maternal grandparents, Elwood and Virginia Gore; daughter, Veronica Lee; sisters, Patricia (Conrad) Gauthier and Donna (Dan) Conner; brother, Gary (Bonnie) Eagle; brother-in-law, Ashly Bishop; and son-in-law, John "Mike" Hoffman.
Family members left to cherish Les's memory are his loving wife, Patricia Eagle; daughters, Tresa (Rob) Mize, Tracy Hoffman, Ruth Eagle, Anna (Allen) Burford; son, John Eagle; sisters, Linda Bishop and Lois (Scott) Joslin; grandchildren, Barry Tyson, Christopher Hoffman, Josef Hoffman, Kristen Hoffman and Marlei Burford; and many great-grandchildren.
A special thank you goes out to MICU at CAMC General, especially the loving nurses that treated Les with compassion, dignity, and provided overall comfort to the family during his last days.
A celebration of life will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, September 17, at Living Word Christian Center, 1418 Kanawha Blvd E, Charleston, WV 25301.
Family, friends and acquittances are welcome to send flowers and are urged to sign our provided guest book.
