Lewis Allen Lane, 87, of Charleston, went home to be with the Lord on June 16, 2023.

Lewis was born on October 12, 1935 to the late William L and Lola M Lane of Harmony, WV.

Lewis retired from KRT as a bus driver. He also worked for Pony Express as a delivery driver.

In addition to his parents, is preceded in death by his wife, Betty G. Lane , whom he was married to for 45 years, and also Tessie Lane, whom he was married to for 18 months; brother, Samuel H. Johnson; and sister, Billie Shamblin.

Lewis is survived by special son and daughter in law, William and Karna Sayre; daughter, Audra Sweet (John); grand daughters, Danyale Sibray (John), Elishia Lane and Billie Murphy; and great grandsons, Jamar Booker and George Anderson Jr.

Lewis was special to many and will be missed by all. He was like a grandfather to a lot of the children at his church, North Charleston Apostolic. He used to help out with the soup kitchen at his church until his health stopped him from doing so. He would try to help everyone he could in any way that he could no matter what it was. Lewis was the most kind hearted and good man. We will miss you so much, especially before bedtime when you would say, "Good night my angels. I love you."

We would like to thank all the nurses at Thomas Memorial Hospital, Dr. Persinger, Centerwell Home Health, and all the help from Hospice Care.

A service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, June 20 at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar with Pastor Anthony Moss officiating. Burial will follow in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Lewis's name to: Hospice Care, 1606 Kanawha Blvd. West, Charleston, WV 25387.
