Obituary

Lewis Allen Lynch, 83, of Titusville, FL, formerly of Dunbar and Cross Lanes, passed away on Sunday, March 19, 2017.

He was born in Charleston on September 30, 1933 to the late Rome E. and Edna Mae Gillespie Lynch.

He proudly served his country from 1953 to 1955 in the U. S. Army. He was in the 82 nd Airborne Division, attended Jumpmaster and Leadership Schools and attained the rank of Platoon Sergeant E-5.

Lewis Allen worked for C&P Telephone/Bell Atlantic/Verizon for forty years. He started as a repairman, and later advanced to Central Office Supervisor for the Kanawha, Boone and Logan areas. He was a lifetime member of the Telephone Pioneers organization. He worked on many projects in Kanawha Valley, such as the Regatta Circus on the Walkway and repairing audiobooks for the blind.

Lewis Allen was a kind, loving, generous, loyal and industrious man. He will be greatly missed by his family.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Lynch of Titusville, FL; sons, Michael A. Lynch of Titusville, FL and James M. Lynch of Port Orange, FL; daughters, Gina Ann Walker of Cross Lanes, Sheri Barnett Williams of Lewisville, TX, Vicki Barnett Horn of Cross Lanes; sister, Ruth Ann Kinney of Orlando, FL; eleven grandchildren, five great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Services will be at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, March 28, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar with Frank Tettenburn officiating. Burial will follow in Donel C. Kinnard Memorial State Veterans Cemetery, Dunbar.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, March 27, and one hour prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
