Lewis "Rasie" Granville Woodson Jr, beloved son, brother, husband and father departed this life on September 10, 2019 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, VA.
Lewis was born and raised in Charleston. He was the son of the late Lewis Granville Woodson Sr. and Gwendolyn Ramsey.
He was educated in Kanawha County School System and he retired from the United States Air Force. After military retirement he worked for the Charleston Newspaper, Fleming Distribution and Med X Drug in Tulsa, OK.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Keith Woodson.
He leaves to honor his memory his wife, Alfreda Woodson of Charleston.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving children, Lewis Davon Woodson (Jerusha) of Charleston, Jamon Woodson (Taja) of Charleston, DeMire Woodson (Angie) of Charlotte, NC, Kristen Tyler (Clyde) of Charleston, and Kristopher Woodson (Megan) of Charleston; step-father, Freddie Ramsey of Charleston; and 16 grandchildren.
Also left to honor his memory is his step-children, Reiko Mills, Ronald Jackson (LaWanda), and Cardell Jackson all of Charleston; 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Also left to cherish his memory is his loving siblings, Jacqueline Nichols (Samuel) of Roanoke, VA, Diane Thomas (Kenneth) of Winston-Salem, NC, Cynthia Davis (Danny)of Raleigh, NC, Mercedes Davis (Andre) of Sumter, SC and Bryant Woodson of Atlanta, GA.
He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Debra Ross of Charleston; special family member, Jocquin Outley, of Phoenix, AZ; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at Abundant Life Ministries, Charleston with the Elder Audrey Powell officiating.
Visitation will be held from 12 to 1 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Arrangements are in care of Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
