Lila "Teresa" Willard, 62, of Spring Hill entered into heaven on October 4, 2016 to begin her eternal life with her parents, Jack and Joyce Willard.

She overcame many obstacles during her life. At the age of seven, she was the first open-heart surgery patient at Thomas Memorial Hospital. Teresa was also a lung and breast cancer survivor.

She was an avid WVU Mountaineers fan and loved her extensive doll collection.

Teresa was loved deeply by her surviving sisters and co-guardians, Karen Keaton and Sharon Buckley of Spring Hill; brother, Joe and sister-in-law, Ginny Willard of St. Albans; nieces, Amy Wherle and Monica Keaton; nephews, Tim Willard and his loving wife, Amy, Brian Willard, Steven Buckley and Mark Keaton; five great-nieces, two great-nephews and two great-great nephews; aunts, Elosie Bays of Alum Creek and Dr. Deborah Willard Bever of Fort Myers, FL.

The family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude to all the staff of ResCare who lovingly took care of Teresa; many of them even included her in their family activities. Also, to Dr. Francis at Thomas ER, for his kindness and compassion to our family during this difficult time.

Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m., Thursday, October 6, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar with Pastor Randy Brakta and Pastor Tom Wise officiating. Burial will be at 10 a.m., Friday, October 7, in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans.

Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
