Mrs. Lillian Juanita Fisher, 81, formerly of Dunbar, passed away following an extended illness on Saturday, Dec. 16, 2006, in Georgia where she had been living during the past two years.
She had been a resident of Dunbar for 60 years.
She was born on Feb. 20, 1925, daughter of the late James Bowling and Rose Harrison Bowling. She was a homemaker although she worked outside the home at various times in her life. She worked at Stone & Thomas, The Piece Goods Shop and also at Murphys.
Known to her family as Juanita, she was preceded in death by her brother, Oval Ray "Buster" Bowling, twin sisters, Dolly Fay Fisher and Molly Gay Shamblin; and father, and mother-in-law, Elbie and Barcie Fisher.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Gilbert Fisher, daughter, Roanna Smith and husband, Leon Smith of Marietta, Ga., brother, James Manford Bowling of Cross Lanes; grandson, Brian Mitchell of Decatur, Ga., granddaughter, Stacy Ann Mitchell of Marietta, Ga.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 21, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with the Rev. Mark Hess officiating.
Visitation will be held between 12:00 and 2:00pm prior to the funeral. Burial will follow at Grandview Memorial Park, Dunbar.
