Lillie "Kid" Bowen, 94, of Charleston, passed away Sunday, July 15, 2007 at Heartland Nursing Home, where she made her home for the past six years.
Lillie was born in 1912 and was a member of Harper Memorial Church.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Eliza Bowen, a sister and brother-in-law, Nellie and Orion Francisco and nephew, Brady Francisco.
She is survived by the following nieces and nephews: Opal Tinsley of Charleston, Mildred "Midge" Beaver and husband, Bill of Charleston, Betty Randolph of Cross Lanes, Ellen Turley of Charleston, Darlena "Dolly" Painter of Scott Depot, Carl Francisco and wife, Helen of Charleston, Bob Francisco and wife, Betty of Charleston and Wayne Francisco and wife Leona of Fraziers Bottom, all of whom considered her their "Other Mother."
She will also be missed by her faithful friend and caregiver, Mary Tillis of Cross Lanes and a host of family and friends whose lives she touched.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, July 18, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with the Rev. David A. Bush officiating. Interment will follow in Bowen Family Cemetery.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, July 17, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
