Linda Carol
Currence Taylor Gaynor
October 26, 1946 – January 8, 2024
Linda Carol Currence Taylor Gaynor, 77, of Dunbar, went home to be with the Lord on January 8, 2024 at CAMC Memorial Hospital, after a long battle with multiple health issues.
Linda was a graduate of Stonewall Jackson High School and grew up in North Charleston, until she married and moved to Dunbar, where she would live out the rest of her life in the home she loved, filled with the people that she loved. Nothing was more important to her than her children, grandchildren, and extended family. She was kind and selfless, humble and brave. She faced many adverse situations in her life that her faith and love for the Lord pulled her through. She was a member of the previous Temple Baptist Church in North Charleston. She was a former employee of the Dunbar Bowling Alley, Dunbar Dairy Bar and Dunbar Travel Lodge. But the job she loved most was being a homemaker, mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry (Maddog) Gaynor; stepdaughter, Angie Gaynor; mother, Mable Currence Hutchinson; stepfather, Archie Hutchinson; grandparents, Robert Currence and Mayme Ong Currence; uncles, John and Cecil Currence; and aunt, Mary Currence Smalley.
Linda is survived by her children, Jerry Taylor Jr. of Charleston, Melissa Taylor of Charleston, Jason Taylor of Dunbar; stepson, Mike Gaynor of South Charleston; grandsons, Damian, Cody, Zane and Ethan Taylor; great-granddaughter, MaCinlee Taylor; sister, Libby Hutchinson Williams (Will); nephews, Craig and Brian Willams all of Sacramento,CA; niece, Sarah Richards; brother, Bob Hutchinson (Connie); nephews, Mike and Todd Hutchinson, all of Scott Depot; nephews whom she loved just as her own sons, Scott White (Georgia) of Morgantown and Alife White (Shawna) of Cincinnati, OH; her daughter-in-love, Elizabeth Adkins of St. Albans; life-long best friend, Barbara Dean, of Dunbar.
A private family service will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park, South Charleston.
Arrangements are in the care of Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
The Taylor family would like to express our love and condolences to Jerry Smalley (Rhonda) and family for the recent passing of our cousin, Sandra Kay (SK) Miller.
