Linda Sherrill
Sargent
September 12, 1958 – May 2, 2025
Mrs. Linda Sherrill Sargent (nee Cook), born to Conrad and Patricia (nee Pritchard) Cook on September 12, 1958, in Charleston, West Virginia, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2025, at her home in Scott Depot, West Virginia.
Linda was a proud native of South Charleston, WV. After graduating South Charleston High School in 1976, Linda went to West Virginia State College to further her education and set the groundwork for a life marked by dedication and personal growth. On a beautiful summer day at the Dunbar playground, Linda met the love of her life and beloved husband, Chuck Sargent, and never looked back. For 43 years, Chuck and Linda devoted their lives to their family and building a life centered around faith and hard-work.
Thought her life, Linda found joy in the simple pleasures that brought her closer to nature and loved ones. She had a deep love for gardening, often spending hours tending to her plants with care and patience. The beach and its many treasures held a special place in her heart - for this was a place of peace and reflection where she cherished many visits throughout her life. Above all else, Linda treasured time spent with her family.
Linda was known for her strong will, unwavering determination's and fierce mama-bear spirit. Linda worked joyfully and faithfully as the office manager at Smith Floor Covering in Charleston, WV, where she was blessed with a second family.
Preceded in joining the Lord and Linda's mother and father, Patricia and Conrad Cook; her father-in-law, Chester Ray Sargent, Sr.; her son, Geoffrey Ray Sargent; and her beloved husband, Chester "Chuck" Sargent, Jr.
Linda is survived and lovingly remembered by her daughter, Amanda Ward; son-in-law, John Ward; grandchildren, Emma and Patrick; mother-in-law, Dolores Sargent; and many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Celebration of Life will be at a later date.
May Linda's memory bring comfort to those who knew her and serve as a reminder of a life lived with quiet strength and enduring love.
