Linwood "Butch" Sturgis, 75, of Dunbar, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 29, 2021.
He was born on April 18, 1946, in Norfolk, VA, to the late Linwood James Sturgis and Maxine Violet Bledsoe.
Butch was a retired disabled veteran who served his country for 22 years in the United States Army. He also retired from the Corps of Engineers at the Marmet Locks and Dam with 19 years of service. Butch also served as the union president of his local union.
He and his wife Libby were inseparable. They loved traveling together, mostly to Virginia Beach and Pigeon Forge, TN.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, John Robert Sturgis.
Butch is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Elizabeth Sturgis; sons, Linwood "Butch" Sturgis of St. Albans, Charles Sturgis and wife Frances Fair of Erlanger, KY; grandchildren, Caitlin Sturgis, Payton Sturgis, Jaiden Cook, Jasmine Breaden; great-grandchildren, Audrey Thompson and Mila Sims; and his dog, Angel.
No services are scheduled at this time.
Arrangements are in the care of Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
