Obituary

Lolly C. Rose, 94, of South Charleston, died peacefully on Sunday, June 25, 2017 at Hubbard Hospice House West, surrounded by family.

She was born on May 25, 1923 in Coalton to the late Sam and Euna Caruthers.

Lolly was a 1941 graduate of Clay County High School. She moved to South Charleston shortly afterwards for a brief career at United Fuel as a keypunch operator. She met John, married and was a lifetime homemaker. She attended New Creation Fellowship and was active there until her recent illness. Lolly loved her many friends and enjoyed playing Bunco with them, church activities, shopping, spending time with family and reading.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by all of her siblings; and her husband, John E. Rose, Jr.

Lolly is survived by her son, John E. Rose, III (Pam); her daughters, Karen Osborne and Judy Bailey (Robert) all of South Charleston; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the many, many people who supported us during her illness with prayers, cards and visits.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, June 28, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar with Pastor Charles Rhodes officiating.

Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to HospiceCare, 1606 Kanawha Blvd W., Charleston, WV 25387-2536 or New Creation Fellowship, 270 Staunton Avenue, South Charleston, WV 25303. Both were invaluable in her life journey and her final journey.
