Lona Elizabeth Presley Page, 95, of Dunbar, passed away the morning of October 1, 2010, at the Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston, after a short illness.
Lona was born August 23, 1915, in Roane County to George and Nancy Rhodes Presley. Approximately at the age of two, her family moved to Liberty, West Virginia. After her marriage to Woodrow W. Page, they lived on a farm on Frog's Creek, Kanawha County; and then they eventually moved to Dunbar.
She was preceded in death by he husband, Woodrow W. Page; sisters, Lula Cunningham and Leva Jones; and brothers, Leo and Lovell Presley.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Evelyn (Larry) Dadisman of Charleston, Brenda Edwards of Fairplain, Dana (Patricia) Page and Roger Page of Dunbar. She has five grandchildren, Scot (Lori) Taylor, Michael Edwards, Nancy (Rodney) Ball, Kristie Edwards, and Molly Page. Also, she has five great grandchildren, Michaela and Mikie Edwards and Brianna, Morgan and Madison Ball. Also surviving her are special foster sisters, Genevieve McCollam of South Charleston, and Nancy Ratliff of Columbus, Ohio.
She was a Christian and a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with Pastor Doyle Young officiating. Burial will follow in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes.
A gathering of family and friends will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, October 4, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
The family would like to thank Dr. John Lilly for the many years he served as Lona's physician, to Thomas Memorial Hospital for their kindness and support the past month, and to Hubbard Hospice House the past two days.
