Louvenia Gray, 90, of Charleston, went to be with her heavenly father on May 19, 2017.
She was born August 14, 1926 to the late George and Laura Breckenridge in Sharon, WV (Cabin Creek). Louvenia attended Kanawha County Schools. She worked in the housekeeping department of the former Morris Harvey College. She was a cook at the Hilltop Nursing Home. Her main occupation and passion was caring for children in her home. She was also a member of New First Missionary Baptist Church of Kanawha City.
Louvenia was preceded in death by her husband, Roy E. Gray; her son, Donald Megginson; grandson, Shawn Michael "Big G" Gray; great-grandsons, Lamar "Boo" Gray and Cain E. Gray; sisters, Margret Johnson, Louises "Biddy" Breckenridge and Betty "Betty Boo" Smith; brothers, Warren "Jay" Breckenridge, Sr. and Ernest "ED" Breckenridge.
She is survived by her son, Jerry (Robin) Gray; daughter, Shirley (James) Whiteside, all of Charleston; sisters, Mae Paula Blanton and Barbara (Charles) Johnson of Detroit, Michigan; brothers, Norman (Genova) Breckenridge, Robert and Claude Breckenridge of Robson, George (Annette) and Troy(Melissa) Breckenridge of Charleston; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 27, at Grace Bible Church, 600 Kanawha Blvd. W., Charleston with Pastor Shawn P. Woods officiating.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
Arrangements are in the care of Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
