Luke M. Carter, 82, of Charleston went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 14, 2022 at CAMC General Hospital.

He was born on April 21, 1939 in Louisa, VA. to the late Thomas and Rosa Carter.

Luke worked at and retired from the City of Charleston.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Herman Carter, Joseph Carter and James Carter; and sister, Leonia M. Braxton.

Luke is survived by his brothers, Samuel Carter Fayetteville and Alva Carter of Charleston; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

A graveside service will be held at 1:30 pm on Friday, March 18, at Sunset Memorial Park, South Charleston.

Friends may visit from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar. A procession will leave at 1p.m. from Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar to the graveside.
