Mamie K. Young's Obituary
Mamie K. Young, 84, of Dunbar, went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, October 28, 2010, at Valley Center.
She was a retired supervisor with the Lindsey Association in Charleston for 25 years and was a member of the former Humphreys Memorial United Methodist Church in Dunbar. She was the daughter of the late Frank John and Ollie Lyons Kernel. Mamie was also preceded in death by her brothers, Raymond and Frank W. Kernel.
She is survived by her son, David R. Massey and his wife, Rosemary of Olathe, KS; brother, Carl Kernel of Hampton, VA., sisters, Genne Smith of Canton, OH, Louise Henderson of Hampton, VA and Jeri Anderson of Lynchburg, VA. Also surviving are grandchildren, Eric Massey and Renee Redfield and great grandchildren, Tyler Ryan Massey, Allyson Massey and Jackson David Redfield.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, October 30, at Grandview Memorial Park, Dunbar, with the Rev. Paul Eure officiating.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, October 29, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Dunbar United Methodist Church, 1401 Myers Avenue, Dunbar, WV 25064.
