Margaret Anne Mallett, 83, of Dunbar, peacefully passed away on Monday, December 28, 2020.
She was born on July 13, 1937, in Charleston, to the late William and Nora Bowen.
Anne was an active member of the Dunbar Church of the Nazarene and a member of the choir and a special music group. She employed by the City of Dunbar as a crossing guard and was an election official. She was a good hearted and a happy go lucky person. She loved life, God, her church, her children and her family. She was known as the cookie lady, making cookies for everyone. She was affectionally known by the bank as Marker Mallett because of her signing her checks with a marker.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Keith Mallett; daughter, Margaret Mallett; sister, Virginia Nemith; brothers, William Bowen, Johnny Bowen, and David Bowen.
Anne is survived by her sons, Donnie Mallett of Dunbar, Brian Mallett of Atlanta, GA, Craig Mallet of Dunbar; and host of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with Pastor Dan Holstein officiating. Burial will be in Bowen Cemetery, Tyler Mountain.
Friends may visit one hour prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
