Marie I. Pendleton, 88, passed away on April 15, 2006 at 12:23 A.M.
Marie was born on November 27, 1917 in Grayson, Kentucky, the youngest of six children. She grew up in Carter County, Kentucky and graduated from Olive Hill High School. In 1940 she was married to Walker B. Pendleton in Ashland, Ky. Marie was a wonderful, loving wife and a caring and giving mother whose children meant the world to her. She was a faithful and long time member of the Naomi Primitive Baptist Church in Charleston and a firm believer in salvation by the grace of God.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walker B. Pendleton; parents, John and Belle Thornbury; sisters, Fannie Fletcher, Emma Everman; brothers, John Thornbury, Stewart Thornbury and Jeff Thornbury.
She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Tom Gunnoe of St. Albans, WV; Regina and Jim Wallace of Hurricane, WV; and son, Steve Pendleton of Charleston, WV; three grandchildren, Tonya Gunnoe, Brent Gunnoe and wife, Trecia; Kevin Allison and wife, Tiffany and one great granddaughter, Leah Marie Gunnoe.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, April 17, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, April 18, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with Elder Frank Baldridge and Elder Glen Lilly officiating. Burial will be at Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens.
