Obituary

Marion Jenkins Brown (Mickey), 91, of St. Albans, passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2015

She was born March 23, 1924 in McDowell County, WV. Marion was the youngest of four children to the union of Adam and Willie Jenkins Thompson.

She was educated within the WV public school system; she furthered her education attending Morris Harvey College, WV State College, and Clarksburg Community College. Marion enjoyed her work as a social worker for the State of WV, which she retired. Marion was an avid reader and enjoyed writing stories and poems. She was also a Math Wiz.

Marion was a dedicated member of Mt. Zion Holy Church, where she was the mother of the church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Adam and Willie Thompson; siblings, John Henry William, Alice Davenport; and devoted husband, Charles Brown, Sr.

Marion leaves to cherish her memory, her one and only son, Charles A. Brown, Jr. and wife, Maureen Brown; five grandchildren, that were dear to her heart, Jan Brown Christmas and her husband, Randy, Shannon, Charles III, Marcus and Jeff Brown; fifteen great-grandchildren, which she was very proud; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She will be greatly missed by family, friends, neighbors and her pet dog "Angel".

Services will be at 12 p.m. on Friday, May 8 at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 1530 3rd Ave., Charleston with Reverend Richard Bullard officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park, Dunbar.

Family and friends may call one hour prior to service at the church.

Arrangements are in the care of Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
