Marion Cecile "Sukey" Burkes, 55 of Charleston went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, January 23, 2008 at Hubbard Hospice House.

he was a member of New Covenant Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death only by her father Sam Burger of Charleston.

She will be missed by her loving surviving family: mother, Lillian "Starlee" Hogan of Charleston. Siblings Howard Hogan, Carolyn Richmond and Earl Jordan Jr., all of Charleston. Three children, daughters Star Yvette Hogan and Sherica Coleman of Charleston and son, Dominic Daniels of Columbus, Ohio. Sukey leaves to cherish her life six grandchildren, Terrick Hogan, Myrelle Harris, Adriana Nazario, Love' Woodson, Damara Poindexter and Silas Nazario. One great-grand daughter, Kaleigha Newhouse and several nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved.

A celebration of her life will be held at New Covenant Missionary Baptist Church in Charleston, Saturday January 26, 2008 at 12:00 p.m. with the Rev. Lloyd Allen Hill conducting, all friends are welcome.

No viewing of the body is planned as it was Sukey's request to be cremated. With her spirit already in Heaven, her remains will stay with the family.
