Obituary

Marion W Rainey, 86, beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather died peacefully August 22, surrounded by family. He is reunited in heaven with the love of his life, Doris and his Savior Jesus Christ.

Preceded in death by Doris, his parents Marion W. and Virginia S. Rainey, his brother, Leonard Rainey and his sisters JoAnne Rainey and Linda S. Martin and 2 still born sisters.

He was an Army Veteran (surgical technician) he is an active member of American Legion Post 23 in Point Pleasant, WV.

He was retired from Gulf Oil Corp. and Harvey Shreve Ford

Surviving children, Anne (Paul) Jopling of Cross Lanes, Kathie (Cecil) Hill of St. Albans, David Rainey of Martinsburg and Daniel (Lori) Rainey of Cross Lanes. Grandchildren, Kimberly Bradley of Nitro, Jennifer (Jim) Meadows of Cross Lanes, Jason (Jennifer) Hill of Hurricane, Matthew Hill of Barboursville, Kyle Rainey of Huntington, Nathan and Isaac Rainey of Cross Lanes. Great-grandchildren Kiersten Looney of Cross Lanes, Karleigh, Bayleigh, and Jayme Grace Meadows of Cross Lanes and Logan and Laken Hill of Hurricane. He is also survived by brother Eddie (Ruby) Rainey of Westminster, Maryland.

He remained an active member of Cross Lanes Baptist Church serving as the representative of the Pioneer Baptist Association. He also was a former member of Dunbar First Baptist. Serving as a Sunday school teacher, Deacon, Financial and Moderator.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Cross Lanes Baptist Church Mission Fund. 108 Cadle Dr. Cross Lanes, WV, 25313.

Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, August 26, at Cross Lanes Baptist Church with Pastor Seth Polk officiating. Entombment will follow in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes.

Friends may call from 11:30 a.m. until service time, Tuesday, at the church.
