Obituary

Marjorie Lucille (Burns) Elmore, born August 19, 1925, departed this earth and went to be with her heavenly father on February 16, 2014.

She is now out of pain and smiling after battling a long illness. She is one of God's angels in his garden of flowers.

Marjorie and her husband, John D. Elmore, had sixteen children; eleven sons and five daughters. She was preceded in death by her husband and seven of her children. Six sons, Andrew, Dennis, Daryl, Clayton, Clifford and Tommy; one daughter, Patricia "Patty" Edens; three sister, Helen, Nora, and Oakie May; one stillborn brother; and her parents, Arthur and Mary Cloe Burns, who are waiting for her in heaven.

She loved going to church, and loved all her children and had a lot of friends.

She is survived by her children, Frances and Jack Hampton, Sr. of Dunbar, Joe and Sherry Elmore of Rand, Remona Mylan of Florida, James Elmore of Missouri, Diane Boggess of Tenn, Dayton Elmore of Georgia, David and Shelia Elmore of Ga, Delmer and Kathy Elmore of Ohio, Irma and Bobby Collins of Campbells Creek; 42 grandchildren; 77 great-grandchildren; and 38 great-great-grandchildren, some who are with her in heaven.

The family would like to thank the people of Hubbard Hospice House West for all they have done. You treated Marjorie and the family like we were your own. God bless you all.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, February 22, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar. Burial will follow in Putny Cemetery, Campbell's Creek.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, February 21 at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
