Obituary

Marjory Spaulding Chaney, 89, of St. Albans, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, January 22, 2020.

She was born on May 29, 1930, in Columbus, Ohio, to the late Albert and Laura DeWees.

Marjory was an avid card player, loved to go camping and looked forward to her family reunions each year. She was also a faithful Jehovah Witness for 45 years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Chaney; first husband, Ray Spaulding; son, Thomas Spaulding; sisters, Alberta Slater and Dorothy Davis; and brothers, Robert DeWees, Charles DeWees, and William DeWees.

Marjory is survived by her children, Connie McCoy of St. Albans, Beverley Sampson of Scott Depot, Russell Spaulding of Groton, CT, Luke Spaulding (Susie) of Cary, NC, Gregory Chaney (Maggie) of Hurricane; daughter-in-law, Virginia Spaulding of Poca; step-children, Brenda Chaney of Florida, Paula Chaney of Florida; sisters, Ruth Johns of Red House, Mary Harris of St. Albans; brother, James DeWees of Vero Beach, FL; 26 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; and 12 great-great grandchildren; along with many nieces and nephews

A memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 26, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Dunbar.

Arrangements are in the care of Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
